Senior Client Accountant
The role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager for Shanghai, you will be part of the Global Finance team responsible and committed to delivering high quality service and standards in achieving branch, unit and corporate objectives. You will be responsible for the full spectrum of client accounting functions for the Shanghai and Hong Kong offices.
- Review reinsurance cessions, losses and statements of accounts to ensure compliance
- Automate checking of accounts with excel/programing whenever possible
- Monitor reinsurance cessions to ensure large cessions are registered into reinsurance accounting system
- Register premiums, commissions and losses into reinsurance accounting system
- Respond to clients’ queries on all accounting issues
- Manage receivables for clients to prevent overdue balances
- Prepare statutory reports and respond to regulators’ and auditors’ queries
- Participate in international initiatives and projects
The Key Responsibilities:
- Degree qualified, preferably in Insurance, Statistics, Mathematics or related discipline
- At least 8 to 10 years’ insurance/reinsurance industry experience with good working knowledge of insurance and reinsurance standards, practices and principles
- Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Excel/Access)
- Ability to automate processes as required
- Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
